Officially: Chelsea Sack Manager Rossinor After Less Than Four Months
Chelsea Football Club announced on Wednesday that they have officially parted ways with manager Liam Rossinor, less than four months after his appointment at the helm of the team.
The decision to dismiss Rossinor comes after a string of negative results, most recently a heavy 3-0 defeat to Brighton yesterday. This loss deepened the Blues' crisis in the Premier League, where the team has failed to score in five consecutive matches and now faces the risk of not qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
Rossinor took charge of Chelsea last January on a long-term contract and initially achieved a promising start. However, results sharply declined both domestically and in Europe, with the team also suffering a harsh elimination from the Champions League, intensifying fan and administrative pressure on him.
In their statement, the London club affirmed that the decision was not an easy one, praising the manager's professionalism. However, they stressed that the recent results "did not meet the club's aspirations," which accelerated the termination of the relationship between both parties.
An interim coach is expected to take charge of the team until the end of the season, while Chelsea's management has begun its search for a new, highly experienced manager to guide the team back to positive results.
