Bruno Fernandes: 'Mazraoui Was Fantastic Out of Position and Very Strong in Tackles'
Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United captain, praised the performance of Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui during his team's 1-0 victory over Chelsea last Saturday in the Premier League.
Fernandes affirmed that Mazraoui delivered an outstanding display despite being deployed in an unfamiliar central defensive role, highlighting his significant adaptability and cohesion with the backline.
In a statement quoted by the "premierleague" website, he said: "Mazraoui was excellent... The entire defensive line played a very strong game."
He added: "A fantastic performance from everyone in defence. Mazraoui, who played out of position, did a great job and was very strong in tackles. The defence put in a great collective effort."
This impressive display comes after interim coach Michael Carrick decided to field Mazraoui at centre-back alongside Aidan Haven, a bold tactical move that resulted in a crucial 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge. The Moroccan international played the full 90 minutes and delivered a remarkable performance.
