Mohammed VI Academy Hosts U19 International Tournament Featuring Clubs from Four Continents
The eighth edition of the U19 International Tournament kicked off today, Tuesday, at the Mohammed VI Football Academy. The event features a significant presence of clubs representing various continents, reaffirming its status as one of the most prominent youth football competitions.
The tournament commenced with an opening match between the Mohammed VI Academy and Italian club Como, played in a highly competitive atmosphere that underscored the event's importance as a key platform for discovering and refining emerging talents.
This edition features 16 teams, divided into four groups. Three Moroccan clubs are participating: Fath Union Sport (FUS), Renaissance Sportive de Berkane, and the host Mohammed VI Academy. The tournament also includes prominent European, Latin American, and Asian clubs such as France's Rennes and Monaco, Spain's Villarreal, Argentina's Boca Juniors, Brazil's Palmeiras, UAE's Al Ain, and Qatar's Aspire Academy.
The tournament attracts significant attention from scouts and recruitment officials representing international clubs. It serves as a genuine platform to showcase top young football talents and open professional pathways for them.
The competition will run until April 26th, culminating in the crowning of this year's champion in what is considered one of the most significant age-group football events.
