New Blow for Brazil: Estevao Doubtful for World Cup Due to Injury
Brazilian talent Estevao Willian is reportedly at risk of missing the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
According to The Athletic, Estevao's participation with the Brazilian national team in the upcoming World Cup is now highly doubtful following an injury he sustained during Chelsea's match against Manchester United last Saturday.
Tests revealed that the 18-year-old player suffered a grade four hamstring injury, making his absence from the 2026 World Cup highly probable.
Estevao requires a lengthy recovery period for the injury. Notably, only 50 days remain until the World Cup kicks off, scheduled to begin on June 11.
Brazil is in Group C for the 2026 World Cup, alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti. They are set to begin their tournament campaign against the "Atlas Lions" (Morocco).
