Arnold: 'We Will Go to Munich to Win and Qualify; Our Goal is to Win the Champions League'
Real Madrid player Trent Alexander-Arnold affirmed his team's ambition to overturn the deficit against Bayern Munich, following their 2-1 defeat in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final. He emphasized that their ultimate goal is to win the continental title.
Arnold stated in media remarks: "Honestly, it was a tough match. We knew it would be a good game because they are an excellent attacking team. They scored a lot of goals, and that's what we talked about before the match. They score a lot and don't concede many goals. They played very well, especially in the first half."
He continued: "But we had our chances, especially in the second half when the game became more open, and with the changes we made, the game came back to life."
Arnold added: "We managed to reduce the deficit, and that's very important for us for next week's match. But as I said, it's like only the first half. I said the same thing against Manchester City, anything can happen, especially when it comes to Real Madrid in the Champions League."
He went on to say: "We have to go there and score at least one goal, if not more. We are currently in a difficult position, but our goal is to win this competition, so we will give everything we have to qualify for the next round."
Regarding the return leg in Germany, he concluded: "It's a very big task. But a team like ours thrives on such moments. We wanted to win, but we didn't succeed; however, our goal is to win the tournament, and we have a tough challenge, and we will go there to try to win and qualify."
