Arbeloa: 'If Any Team Can Win in Munich, It's Real Madrid'
Álvaro Arbeloa has expressed his complete confidence in Real Madrid's ability to secure a victory in their upcoming clash in Munich, Germany. He stressed that the team possesses all the necessary qualities to overcome the challenge at the Allianz Arena.
Despite admitting the bitter taste of the 2-1 home defeat against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, and acknowledging avoidable errors, Arbeloa highlighted the squad's ambition and unwavering belief in their players' potential to achieve a positive result on German soil.
Arbeloa explained that Real Madrid demonstrated a clear ability to reach the opponent's goal and create sufficient scoring opportunities in the previous encounter. He stated: "If there is any team capable of winning in Munich, it is Real Madrid. We understand the difficulty of the task there, but we will go there to win."
He also sent a firm message to those doubting the capabilities of the Royal Club, saying: "Whoever does not believe in our ability should stay in Madrid, because we will go with everything we have to win in Munich."
Regarding absences and refereeing decisions, Arbeloa expressed regret over Aurélien Tchouaméni receiving a yellow card, which will rule him out of the upcoming match. At the same time, he criticized the referee's failure to send off an opposing player after a challenge on Kylian Mbappé. He added: "It's an impactful absence due to a card where I don't understand what the referee saw, just as I don't understand why a red card wasn't shown for the foul against Mbappé. These are incomprehensible decisions."
