Monaco Coach Opens Door for Pogba's Return Against Marseille in Ligue 1
Monaco coach Sébastien Bocconioli announced that player Paul Pogba is now available for participation and may be included in the squad to face Olympique Marseille on Sunday evening in Ligue 1.
The coach stated that the French international has been consistently training with the group since the international break, which enhances his chances of being called up for the upcoming match after successfully completing his treatment phase and beginning a gradual integration process with his teammates.
Bocconioli clarified that the final decision regarding the player's participation has not been definitively made, as three training sessions remain which will determine his physical condition and full technical readiness.
The coach said in this regard that the player has been training regularly with the group for some time, and given the positive ongoing process, his presence in the squad is a possible option, indicating his optimism about the rehabilitation path the player has recently undergone.
Pogba is aiming to return to the pitch after a four-month absence due to a calf injury sustained on December 13, which kept him out of official competitions for an extended period.
His last competitive appearance for Monaco was on December 5. He also made a brief 25-minute appearance, scoring a goal, in a friendly match against Brentford U23 on March 26.
The French star has suffered from a lack of appearances this season, featuring for only 30 minutes in Ligue 1 before sustaining the injury that halted his progress. Amidst intensive preparations for the Olympique Marseille match in the 28th round, the technical staff is monitoring the player's calf response to high physical exertion to ensure a safe return and avoid a recurrence of the injury that has kept him sidelined for months.
