Fadlu: Raja Management Tried to Sign South African Players, High Costs Proved an Obstacle
Raja Club Athletic coach, South African Fadlu Davids, has revealed the reasons why the Moroccan club did not sign players from the South African league during the last winter transfer window, despite showing interest in several names.
Speaking to "Soccer Laduma" newspaper, Davids explained that Raja's management made several attempts during the winter transfer market to sign players from South Africa. However, the difficulty of negotiations and the high financial value of the deals proved to be obstacles to their completion.
The coach further added that major clubs in South Africa demand high transfer fees that do not align with Raja's budget. He noted that while loan options were available, they were limited in their ability to meet the team's technical requirements.
Davids emphasized that the timing of the winter transfer window further complicates negotiations, especially as many clubs are in the midst of competing for domestic or continental titles, making them reluctant to part with their key players.
The Raja coach concluded his statement by confirming that the club will re-evaluate its options at the end of the current season, looking for reinforcements that meet the team's aspirations, whether in the South African market or other markets.
