Morocco Faces Paraguay in Lens Friendly, Wahbi's Second Match in Charge (Today 19:00 GMT+1)
The Moroccan national team is set to play its second friendly match against Paraguay today, as both sides continue their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The "Atlas Lions" previously drew their first friendly 1-1 against Ecuador in Madrid, while Paraguay secured a 1-0 victory over Greece.
The Ecuador clash marked the debut of coach Mohamed Wahbi at the helm of the national team, succeeding Walid Regragui. Regragui concluded his tenure after guiding the "Lions" to the Africa Cup of Nations final, where they faced Senegal.
The friendly between Morocco and Paraguay is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Bollaert-Delelis Stadium, kicking off at 7:00 PM Moroccan time.
Morocco enters this preparatory phase with high ambitions, building on its historic achievement at the last World Cup, where it finished fourth, in addition to winning the Africa Cup of Nations. This success is reflected in its FIFA ranking, where the team currently holds the eighth position globally, its highest-ever ranking.
In contrast, the Paraguay national team, currently ranked 38th worldwide, aims to regain its international prominence. They have secured their return to the World Cup finals for the first time since reaching the quarter-finals in 2010.
