Ancelotti: "I Have My Starting XI for Morocco Match, Most Important Result is World Cup Opener"
Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that he has finalized his squad for the 2026 World Cup and has a clear idea of the official starting lineup that will face the Moroccan national team in their opening match of the competition.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of a friendly against Croatia, the Italian stated: "We conducted evaluations of players I didn't know. Today, we have a very clear idea. I have my starting XI for the first match (against Morocco) in the World Cup, as well as the final squad list."
He continued: "The objective of the matches against France and Croatia was to test the starting lineup. It's not strong enough due to numerous injuries. The idea was not to test individual players in these two matches, but rather to test the official lineup."
Ancelotti concluded: "We are on the right track, and we have a very clear idea of what we want to achieve. I am sure that the result is important (in friendly matches), but for us, the most important result is the outcome of the first match in the World Cup."
It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team will face their Brazilian counterparts on June 13 next year, marking the start of their respective campaigns in the 2026 World Cup.
