
Barcelona "Demolishes" Newcastle 7-2 to Reach Champions League Quarter-Finals
Barcelona comfortably qualified for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after a dominant 7-2 victory over visitors Newcastle United in the second leg of their last-16 tie. The match was held at Camp Nou on Wednesday, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
The game started intensely from the opening minutes, with Barcelona scoring first through their Brazilian star Raphinha in the 6th minute. The visitors equalized in the 15th minute courtesy of Anthony Elanga.
Barcelona regained the lead with a goal from Marc Bernal in the 18th minute, but Elanga once again leveled the score for Newcastle in the 28th minute. However, the Spanish side managed to end the first half ahead when Lamine Yamal scored a third goal from a penalty in the 45+7th minute.
In the second half, Barça's attack surged, with Fermín López scoring the fourth goal in the 51st minute. Robert Lewandowski then added the fifth and sixth goals in the 56th and 61st minutes, respectively, before Raphinha reappeared to score the seventh goal by the 72nd minute.
In the Champions League quarter-finals, Barcelona will face the winner of tonight's match between Tottenham Hotspur and Atlético Madrid. The first leg between those two teams ended in a 5-2 victory for the Spanish side, Atlético Madrid.
