Haaland's Agent Denies Barcelona Contact, Confirms Stay at Manchester City
Rafaela Pimenta, agent of Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, has denied circulating reports of any contact with Spanish club Barcelona regarding a potential future move for the Manchester City player. Pimenta explicitly confirmed that no official or unofficial communications have taken place, either with Haaland himself or with his management team, effectively putting an end to rumors linking the young star with a transfer to La Liga.
These clarifications come in response to previous reports suggesting that Victor Font, a former candidate for Barcelona's presidency, had been negotiating for a priority option to sign the Norwegian striker. Rafaela Pimenta stated, "I have often said that we have a lot of respect and admiration for Barcelona, but there has been absolutely no contact, neither with Haaland nor with his agent at Barcelona, nor with any potential transfer targets," emphasizing that these reports are unfounded.
The agent clarified that the striker's current situation in the Premier League is characterized by stability and complete satisfaction, especially after his recent contract renewal with his current club. Pimenta added, "The player renewed his contract a few months ago, and he is very happy at Manchester City and performing very well. We have nothing to discuss regarding a transfer when things are as good as they are now at Manchester City," confirming the absence of any ongoing talks about his future away from the Etihad Stadium.
This denial comes at a time when Haaland's name has long been linked with a move to La Liga, coinciding with Barcelona's need to strengthen its attacking line with a center-forward. Conversely, reports emerged of members of the player's team being present with Manchester City's sporting director, Hugo Viana, amid news of negotiations concerning contractual clauses that would grant pre-emption rights or priority to certain parties. The agent emphatically denied this, reiterating the player's commitment to the English champions.
