“Ask Real Madrid!”… Flick Sarcastically Responds to Barcelona’s Copa del Rey Critics
Hansi Flick, Barcelona's coach, took a jab at Real Madrid while addressing critics who are downplaying the Catalan side's progress in the Copa del Rey. His comments came during the press conference ahead of their semi-final clash against Atlético Madrid.
A journalist posed the question: "What do you think of those who diminish the importance of this qualification in the Cup or try to strip away some of its significance, due to not having faced any top-flight team so far this season?"
The German coach simply replied: "Ask Real Madrid."
Barcelona had eliminated second-division side Albacete in the quarter-finals. Notably, Albacete had previously caused an upset by defeating Real Madrid in the round of 16 of the same competition.
Barcelona is set to face Atlético Madrid next Thursday at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium in the Spanish capital, with kick-off scheduled for 9:00 PM (GMT +1).
