After Stadium Flaws Revealed, Barcelona Mayor Announces Camp Nou Bid for 2030 World Cup Final
Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni announced that the Catalan city council will submit a bid to the Spanish Football Federation and FIFA to host the 2030 World Cup final.
Upon completion of its renovation works, Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium will become the largest stadium in Spain, with a capacity of 104,000 spectators.
The stadium, home to FC Barcelona, had recently faced widespread criticism following the appearance of several defects in its roof, surroundings, and private facilities.
Camp Nou will compete to host the 2030 World Cup final alongside the Santiago Bernabéu stadium and Morocco's Hassan II Stadium, which leads the race with a planned capacity of 115,000 spectators.
