Al Ahly Goalkeeper Shobeir: 'We Will Face ASFAR Aiming to Top Our Group'

Al Ahly's Egyptian goalkeeper, Mostafa Shobeir, expressed his immense happiness after his team successfully secured a spot in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals. This achievement followed their goalless draw against Algeria's JS Kabylie in the fifth round of the group stage, a result he affirmed was sufficient to achieve their primary objective at this stage.

Regarding the anticipated clash against ASFAR, Shobeir emphasized that the match would be crucial in determining the leader of Group B. He clarified that Al Ahly would approach the game with only victory in mind, aiming to finish the first round at the top and secure a greater advantage in the knockout stages, while affirming the readiness of all players for this continental challenge.

The Al Ahly shot-stopper added that the team approaches all its matches with a winning mentality. He pointed out that the draw in Algeria was extremely valuable, especially given the difficult circumstances and the pressure of consecutive matches across local and African competitions.

He also noted that Al Ahly is suffering from physical fatigue due to the packed fixture schedule and extensive travel, in addition to recent injuries affecting the squad.
