Salim Ali, head coach of Kenyan side Nairobi United, affirmed his team's determination to conclude their home matches with a strong performance ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup group stage clash against Wydad AC.

Speaking to the club's official page, Salim Ali stated: "The team's performance has not been good, but I believe we want to bounce back strongly. The match against Wydad is an opportunity to contribute and achieve a positive result in our last home game before traveling for the next fixture."

He continued: "This is our final group stage encounter, and we are certainly trying to motivate the players to give their best and secure a positive outcome. They have been performing well in training, both after the last match and in today's session, which sets us up well for the Wydad game."

Ali added: "We want to conclude this round honorably. The experience we've gained as a team has been beneficial, and ultimately, we want to finish these two matches with a good result. If we get four points, that would be excellent, and even three points would be good. The important thing is to collect points; it's not too difficult."

He further explained: "The only challenge we've faced is that we are still in the team-building phase for this season. We have good quality players, but they haven't yet reached 100% readiness. What we want is to give them an opportunity in the upcoming match to assess their fitness levels and how they interact with their teammates before we return our focus to the league."

Ali concluded: "The most important thing for us is to gain experience first. This young team wants to prove itself here and on this continent. If we minimize errors as much as possible and focus on the positives, I believe the result will be satisfactory."

Wydad AC will visit Nairobi United this Sunday, with the match kicking off at 2:00 PM (GMT+1).

Wydad currently leads Group B with 9 points, while Nairobi United sits at the bottom of the standings without any points.
