Talbi on Burnley Goal: "Scoring is Always Special, Sunderland Staff Helped Me Greatly Since AFCON Return"

Moroccan international Shamseddine Talbi expressed his delight after scoring in his first start since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, as his Sunderland side secured a 3-0 victory over Burnley on Monday evening.

Speaking to Sunderland's official website, Talbi said: "I feel very happy. Getting back into the starting eleven and scoring is always special, but the most important thing is the team's performance." He added: "We talked a lot during the week about our reaction. Last week wasn't good by our standards, so it was about showing character. I think you saw that on the pitch through the intensity, the cooperation, and the desire to put things right."

Having recently returned from participating with the Moroccan national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, Talbi expressed his satisfaction with his immediate return and direct impact on his team's performance.

He stated: "I feel good physically and mentally. The technical staff has helped me a lot since my return from AFCON, and the players have been fantastic. It's great to be back here again, enjoying my football and contributing to helping the team."
