King Mohammed VI on AFCON Final Events: 'Hostile Schemes Will Not Undermine Moroccan People's Awareness or Strength of African Ties'
His Majesty King Mohammed VI affirmed, in a royal statement, that hostile schemes would not achieve their objectives. He emphasized the Moroccan people's awareness and their ability to distinguish between facts and malicious claims, asserting that they would not be drawn into resentment or division. This statement comes against the backdrop of events that accompanied the Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal.
The royal statement further read: "On the other hand, in the face of defamation and some attempts to undermine credibility, His Majesty the King, may God assist him, remains convinced that hostile schemes will never achieve their objectives, and that the Moroccan people know how to distinguish between matters and will not accept being drawn into resentment and division."
His Majesty added: "Nothing can affect the rapprochement forged over centuries between our African peoples, nor the fruitful cooperation existing between the continent's various countries, which continues to be strengthened by more ambitious partnerships."
King Mohammed VI clarified that the Kingdom of Morocco will remain a great African country, faithful to the spirit of brotherhood, solidarity, and respect towards the continent. He affirmed Morocco's unwavering commitment to contributing to a united and prosperous Africa, especially through the shared exchange of its experiences, expertise, and skills.
