Enrique on Hakimi: "I will speak with him to understand how he feels and what he's thinking... He has minor physical issues, and his participation tomorrow will be my decision."
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique discussed the psychological and physical condition of Achraf Hakimi following his return from participating with the Moroccan national team in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Spanish coach stated: "It depends on the training session we will have. I want to speak with him because it's important to know how he feels individually and what he's thinking."
He continued: "He has returned to his normal state. However, he is experiencing some minor physical issues, but they are not significant. The decision will be mine tomorrow, after I speak with him."
In a related context, Enrique also addressed the criticism new players often face: "The first thing I like to do whenever we sign a new player is to tell them to be aware that their initial years at Paris Saint-Germain will be full of criticism, no matter what they do."
He concluded: "This has happened with Bradley Barcola, it happened with Désiré Doué, with Achraf Hakimi, and it has happened with many other players. This is normal."
Achraf Hakimi could potentially feature for his team in their match against Auxerre tomorrow, Friday, scheduled for 8 PM, as part of the 19th round of the French League.
