Trabelsi: "Sadio Mané Prevented a Farce in Africa Cup Final"
Former Tunisian international Hatem Trabelsi affirmed that Senegal national team player Sadio Mané was instrumental in thwarting a "farce" that nearly unfolded in the Africa Cup of Nations final.
Trabelsi posted on his official Facebook account, stating: "Sadio Mané possesses high sportsmanship and was the reason for preventing the farce that almost occurred in the Africa Cup of Nations final, which contributed to saving the reputation of African football."
He added: "In addition, Mané possesses great capabilities, and what he has achieved in Europe and Africa confirms his value. He continues to deliver good performances in the Saudi League even now."
It was reported that Papa Thiaw, the coach of the Senegalese national team, had ordered his players to withdraw from the Africa Cup final against Morocco, in protest of the referee awarding a penalty to the "Atlas Lions." He later retracted his decision after Mané's intervention, leading to them winning the title.
