Senegal international Idrissa Gueye expressed his pride after his country's qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations final, following their 1-0 victory over Egypt. Gueye stated in remarks reported by the Senegalese website "wiwsport": "The match against Egypt was very complicated and difficult. We knew we would face a team that would play defensively and rely on counter-attacks. We prepared well for this scenario."

Regarding the absence of Kalidou Koulibaly and Habib Diallo from the final against Morocco due to suspension, Gueye said: "Unfortunately, we will miss important players in the final, and this is sad.
