Regragui: "I Love Senegal, They Are a Brotherly Nation, and Facing Them Will Be an Ideal AFCON Final"

Walid Regragui, head coach of the Moroccan national team, stated during the press conference following their qualification for the final, that Senegal would be a difficult and special test. He emphasized the opponent's quality and the importance of this final for African football.

In this context, Walid Regragui said: "It's a final match bringing together the two best teams in Africa over the last three years. If I had been told at the start of the tournament that we would face Senegal in the final, I would have said it would be complicated, because we are talking about a great team."

He continued: "They are a team with a good coach and excellent players. I love Senegal; it has always been a brotherly nation to Moroccans."

The national coach added: "For me, this is an ideal Africa Cup of Nations final, and very beneficial for the tournament's image and promotion, because it brings together the two best teams on the continent."

The Atlas Lions' coach continued: "We need a lot of recovery because we played 120 minutes, while Senegal only played 90 minutes. We only have three days to recover, and I believe the chances are 50-50."

Regragui concluded his statement by saying: "God willing, we will win this final. It's the first time in history that we face Senegal in an Africa Cup of Nations final, and Morocco has only played three finals in its history. That's how things are."
