Hossam Hassan: "No Team Will Ever Dare to Win the Africa Cup of Nations 7 Times Like Egypt!"

Hossam Hassan expressed his strong disapproval following the Egyptian national team's 1-0 defeat to Senegal, which ended their Africa Cup of Nations journey in the semi-finals. He attributed the team's exit to a "lack of fairness" in the tournament's scheduling.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Hassan stated, "We rested for two days then played on the third day, and we were constantly traveling. Look at the number of rest days other teams received compared to us; that's why I feel sorry for my players."

He further elaborated on his concerns, saying, "There should have been fairness in the rest days. Our opponent (Senegal) remained in the same location throughout the tournament, staying in the same hotel and the same bed. As for us, we had no rest and suffered from constant travel."

Hassan then made a bold prediction regarding Egypt's unparalleled success in the competition. "Until the Day of Judgment, no team will dare to win the Africa Cup of Nations 7 times, and I bet on that. No one will be crowned champion 7 times like the great Egyptian national team. We needed one or two days of rest, just like the team we faced. We played the day after Senegal's match (quarter-final)."

It is worth noting that Egypt managed only one shot on target against Senegal, while the "Lions of Teranga" registered four shots on target.
