Regragui on Squad Changes: "I always say that the players who start the competition are not the ones who will finish it"
Walid Regragui, head coach of the national team, emphasized during a press conference held today ahead of their match against Nigeria that the Africa Cup of Nations journey necessitates reviewing and adapting tactical choices based on evolving performance and competition. He affirmed that reaching the semi-finals demonstrates the close level of competition among the top teams.
In this regard, Walid Regragui stated: "There are changes in the team. As I mentioned, the players who started the competition aren't necessarily those who will finish it. Some have earned their place, while others have lost it."
The national coach added: "Offensively, we can do more. There are players who have returned to the lineup, like Ighaman. In the semi-finals, you'll find Nigeria with an excellent attack, as well as Egypt with Marmoush and Salah, and Senegal with Mané, Ndiaye, and others."
He continued: "Everyone has good players, and we are among the caliber of teams present here."
The Moroccan national team is set to face Nigeria tomorrow, Wednesday, at 9:00 PM local time, at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
