The Gabonese Football Federation announced on Monday evening the lifting of government measures that had suspended the activities of its senior national team and excluded players Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bruno Ecuele Manga, following their elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations.

According to a statement from the Gabonese FA, Minister of Sports Paul Ulrich Kessany, in his letter to the local football association, stressed the importance of preparing for upcoming events, particularly the draw for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Minister also urged the Federation to make all necessary arrangements to provide practical details regarding the selection of a new technical staff for the Gabonese national team.

For its part, the Gabonese Football Federation expressed satisfaction with this positive resolution, affirming its readiness to move forward with successfully rebuilding its national team.

It is worth recalling that the Gabonese government had previously decided to immediately dissolve the national team's technical staff following their exit from the group stage of the 2025 AFCON, suspended the senior national team's activities indefinitely, and excluded both Bruno Ecuele Manga and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
