Gabon national team coach, Thierry Mouyouma, affirmed that his team will approach their final group stage match in the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 qualifiers with strong determination against Ivory Coast, aiming to conclude their campaign on a positive note.

Speaking at the press conference preceding the match against Ivory Coast, Mouyouma stated: “Even if we are no longer in the race for qualification, we maintain a competitive mindset. We will play this match until the last moment, with seriousness and determination, to present a better image against 'The Elephants'.”

The Gabon coach emphasized the necessity of tactical discipline and efficiency in front of the Ivorian goal, noting that “the slightest mistake against a team of this caliber could have severe consequences.”

He continued: “Football is played on the field, not on paper. We have our strengths and we will make good use of them. The team will fight for the flag and for the image of Gabonese football, especially as it is essential to end this continental cup with dignity.”

It is worth noting that the Gabonese national team has already exited the AFCON 2025 qualifiers after defeats to Cameroon and Mozambique, placing them last in Group F with no points.
