Abou Trika: 'I Wanted Broos Out of AFCON Due to Arrogant Remarks About Morocco'
Egyptian international Mohamed Abou Trika, a pundit for Qatar's beIN Sports channels, expressed his strong desire for Hugo Broos to exit the Africa Cup of Nations, following Broos's continuous criticism of Morocco's organization of the tournament.
During the match analysis studio, Abou Trika stated: “I wanted Hugo Broos to be eliminated from the tournament because he is an arrogant person. He was the only one who spoke about the training pitches, at a time when everyone else praised the stadiums.”
He added: “He is the only one who criticizes and is very arrogant, seeing only himself. The style he plays does not suit him; he is not Spanish. He should focus on defensive aspects, yet he wants to defend with the ball. When you lose the ball, your counter-pressing must be quick, and counter-attacks remain dangerous for you.”
Abou Trika concluded: “People are going in one direction, and Broos is going in the opposite direction. This is evident even in his press conferences and his racist statements about players.”
