Roger Milla to Al-Botola: 'Morocco's Hosting of Football Competitions is Always Good'
African and Cameroon football legend Roger Milla expressed his great dissatisfaction with the Cameroon national team's performance in the AFCON 2025 group stage, considering it one of the worst displays he has witnessed in recent years. Milla made these remarks in exclusive statements to Al-Botola website.
Roger Milla told Al-Botola: "This is the worst performance I've seen from the Cameroon national team in three, four, or even five years. We have never played this way, especially since we restructured the team."
He continued: "It's true that there were absences of some key players who are used to playing, but usually when we bring in substitutes, the goal is for them to offer more than those who started the match. Unfortunately, this did not happen."
The Cameroon legend added: "In the end, this is just one match, and a match remains a match. I believe our entire team will be present in what's coming, and I trust they will deliver something better."
In another context, Roger Milla did not hide his admiration for Morocco's organization of sporting competitions. He stated: "I see that Morocco always organizes its competitions well, whether in football, handball, or other sports. When the organization is good, there are no problems. We all hope to support them for an even better World Cup organization."
Meanwhile, Ivory Coast currently leads Group F with 7 points, ahead of the Cameroon national team, who are in second place with the same points. Mozambique occupies third place with three points, while Gabon remains at the bottom of the group with no points.
