CAN 2025 / Algeria Defeats Equatorial Guinea (3-1) to Finish Group Stage with Perfect Record

The Algerian national team defeated Equatorial Guinea 3-1 in a match held on Wednesday evening at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat. This game was part of the third and final round of the Africa Cup of Nations group stage.

The Algerian squad opened the scoring in the 19th minute through Zineddine Belaïd. Fares Chaïbi then doubled the lead in the 25th minute, before Ibrahim Maza added a third goal in the 32nd minute.

After the break, Equatorial Guinea attempted to mount a comeback, with Emilio Nsue successfully scoring a consolation goal in the 50th minute.

With this victory, the Algerian national team solidified its top position in Group E with a perfect record of nine points. Equatorial Guinea finished last in the group with no points, while Burkina Faso secured second place with six points, and Sudan was third with three points.
