National Security Investigates 8 Suspected of Africa Cup Ticket Black Market Sales
The judicial police services, operating under the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), have launched judicial investigations, supervised by the competent public prosecutors, into criminal acts suspected to involve eight individuals. These acts concern the illegal speculation and resale of tickets for the Africa Cup of Nations football matches, currently hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco.
These investigations were initiated after the DGSN's cyber vigilance services detected numerous advertisements and posts on social media platforms offering tournament tickets for sale through illicit means. Technical inquiries and field investigations successfully identified the suspects involved in these activities.
Security operations conducted in Rabat, Temara, Agadir, Salé, Marrakech, and Mohammedia led to the arrest of the suspects. These coordinated interventions aim to combat all forms of speculation that undermine the organization of sporting competitions.
The arrested individuals are currently undergoing judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor. This aims to uncover all circumstances, details, and motives behind these cases, while investigations continue to apprehend any other potential accomplices in these criminal acts.
