Angola Coach Beaumelle: "Dima Maghrib... The Organization is Perfect and Shows the Best Image of the African Continent"

Patrice Beaumelle, the head coach of the Angola national team, praised Morocco's "ideal" organization of the Africa Cup of Nations, stating that he feels at home whenever he is in the North African country.

Speaking after Angola's 2-1 defeat to South Africa in their AFCON opener, Beaumelle remarked, "I spent more than four years of my life here in Morocco with the Atlas Lions as an assistant coach, and we participated in the Africa Cup of Nations twice and the World Cup once."

He continued, "I watched the opening match and was overcome with many emotions, as I remembered having been there and contributed to these projects. Honestly, I felt shivers when I saw the opening stadium. I feel like I am in my own country, and I want to say 'Dima Maghrib' because the organization is perfect and shows the best image of the African continent, and I am proud of that."

Beaumelle previously served as assistant coach to Hervé Renard with the Moroccan national team for over three years. He then briefly managed the Moroccan U23 national team before taking on various other roles. Last September, he was appointed head coach of the Angola national team.
