
Morocco's Group: Zambia Denies Mali Victory in 1-1 Draw, Atlas Lions Lead After Matchday 1
The Malian national team kicked off their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 1-1 draw against Zambia. The match, part of the first round of the group stage, took place at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.
Mali missed a penalty in the first half but took the lead in the second with a goal from Lassine Sinayoko in the 61st minute. However, Zambia leveled the score through Patson Daka in the 90+2 minute.
Consequently, the Moroccan national team leads the group with 3 points after the completion of the first round's two matches. Mali and Zambia are in second and third place respectively, each with one point, while Comoros occupies the last position, also with one point.
The Malian national team will be Morocco's next opponent. Their upcoming match is scheduled for next Friday, kicking off at 9 PM, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
