Comoros Coach: 'Morocco Among World's Best, No Shame in Defeat'

Stefano Cozin, head coach of the Comoros national team, expressed his great respect for the Moroccan national team following their match in the first round of the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals, which saw the "Atlas Lions" secure a two-nil victory.

During the post-match press conference, the Comoros coach affirmed that his players delivered a disciplined performance, particularly defensively, emphasizing that the difference in quality and experience favored the Moroccan team. He stated: "We were defensively disciplined and worked well, but we must acknowledge that Morocco is a strong team, and there is no shame in that. I am proud of the young players and the image we presented of Comoros in this match."

Cozin added that capitalizing on one of the opportunities his team created could have altered the course of the game, but facing a team of Morocco's caliber presents significant challenges. He continued: "We capitalized on one of the chances we had to change the match scenario, but losing to a team of Morocco's stature is not a disgrace, and we should not be ashamed of it, as they are among the best teams in the world."
