Aguerd and Hakimi Named in Ligue 1's Ideal AFCON XI

Two Moroccan players have been included in the ideal lineup of top professional players from the French League who are set to participate in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals, hosted by Morocco.

The French newspaper L'Equipe unveiled this ideal lineup of the most prominent African professionals in Ligue 1, featuring Nayef Aguerd, the Marseille player, and Achraf Hakimi, the Paris Saint-Germain player. Their inclusion acknowledges their outstanding form and exceptional performances for their respective clubs throughout the current season.

In total, 11 players were selected from a pool of 51 professionals in the French League to form this elite squad, expected to shine in the upcoming continental championship matches.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals are scheduled to commence in Morocco, utilizing nine stadiums spread across six different cities. The competition will run from next Sunday until January 18, 2026.
