Comoros Coach Ahead of Morocco Clash: "AFCON Seems Destined for Them, But Football is Full of Surprises"
Stefano Cozin, head coach of Comoros, believes that the Moroccan national team is the favorite to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, while also noting that football is full of surprises.
Speaking to France24 about facing Morocco, Cozin said: "We are not afraid; quite the opposite. This gives us courage and ignites our desire. It makes you happy and eager to play these kinds of matches because they are exceptional. We have had the opportunity to play such a match, and I believe it is a great honor for the entire country, for the players, for the technical staff, and for everyone who contributed to the qualification."
He continued: "The pressure will be on everyone, yes, but certainly more on them (Morocco) because they are playing at home and have a duty not only to win the match but also to win the tournament."
He added: "On paper, it really seems that this edition of the Africa Cup of Nations is destined for them (Morocco), but sports are not solely based on that. Football is full of surprises, and things don't always go as we imagine, especially in the Africa Cup. Expectations are often turned upside down."
The Comoros national team will face Morocco next Sunday, starting at 8:00 PM (GMT+1), in the first round of the AFCON group stage.
