Egyptian Marmoush: "We Are the Best Team in Africa... We Will Win AFCON Then Go On to Win the World Cup"

Egyptian international Omar Marmoush, a Manchester City player, has expressed his significant ambitions with his national team, affirming that their goal is not merely to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025," but to compete for the title.

In statements to the English club's official website, Marmoush said: "We will win the Africa Cup of Nations, of course, then we will win the World Cup."

Marmoush emphasized that the Egyptian national team aims to perform honorably in all upcoming competitions. He explained: "We want to show ourselves in a good light, and we can dream of winning the tournament or reaching advanced stages. We will not be content with merely achieving fame, nor will we be content with saying: 'We participated in the World Cup.'"

The City player stressed that the quality of the players and the strength of the squad give the Egyptian national team an advantage at the continental level. He stated: "With the players we have, and with the team we possess, and as the Egyptian national team, we are the best team in Africa."

Marmoush also touched upon "The Pharaohs'" ambitions for the upcoming World Cup, affirming that their participation will not be merely symbolic. He said: "Next summer, we will participate in the World Cup to get past the group stage and to show the world who we are, not just to participate."
