Scotland Manager on World Cup Ticket Prices: "My Message to Fans is Don't Put Your Families in Debt"
Scotland manager Steve Clarke has urged fans not to incur debt to secure tickets for the upcoming World Cup matches next summer, with group stage tickets ranging from £134 to £525.
The national team coach warned supporters against taking on additional financial burdens for travel and to support their country in the World Cup finals. He noted that the nation has been experiencing great excitement for the World Cup since qualifying for the finals for the first time in 28 years.
Clarke explained to Sky Sports, saying: "We can't control the prices. Travel to America is inherently expensive. If you can afford it, that's great, but if you can't, understand the situation, and don't put yourself and your family in debt."
Clarke continued: "Ticket prices are set by FIFA, and my biggest wish is that people don't put themselves in too much debt trying to get there. Even if you're going on a holiday to America, you need to save repeatedly to cross the Atlantic and spend your vacation there, so it will always be an expensive World Cup."
It is worth noting that the Scotland national team is in Group C of the World Cup, alongside Morocco, Brazil, and Haiti.
