Bellegarde (Haiti Forward): "Our World Cup Opponents Won't Easily Overcome Us; The Pressure Will Be On Them"
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, the Haiti national team forward, expressed great optimism ahead of the World Cup finals, asserting that his country's team will approach the competition with a strong spirit and without any additional pressure.
In an interview with French website "Foot Mercato," Bellegarde stated: "We will go to the World Cup without pressure. We know it's a competition with big teams, and we will play our usual style. We will see where that takes us, but we don't set limits for ourselves, nor do we believe that other teams will easily overcome us."
He added: "We believe that nothing is decided yet, and we have the opportunity to compete without pressure. We must play our way, and we know that the pressure will be on others."
The Wolverhampton Wanderers forward continued: "To make a difference in such tournaments, collective effort and a spirit of solidarity are required. Simply participating in the World Cup is amazing, but if we can deliver a great performance against a strong team, that would be fantastic."
He concluded: "Getting out of the group stage would be legendary. We will strive to enjoy our participation, but we also have a desire to make history, and we will try to achieve that."
It is worth noting that the draw for the 2026 World Cup placed the Haitian national team in Group C alongside Morocco, Brazil, and Scotland.
