
Arab Cup / Guatemalan Mario Escobar to Officiate Morocco vs. Saudi Arabia Match
The FIFA Referees Committee has appointed the officiating team for the match between the Moroccan national team and their Saudi Arabian counterparts, part of the third round of the Arab Cup group stage. The team is predominantly from Guatemala, with officials from Chile, Uruguay, and Switzerland also involved in the VAR room.
Guatemalan referee Mario Escobar will manage the match, assisted by his compatriots Luis Ventura and Humberto Panjoj as first and second assistant referees, respectively.
The Referees Committee assigned the role of fourth official to Chilean Cristian Garay, while his compatriot José Retamal will serve as the fifth official for this Arab summit.
In the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room, Uruguayan Antonio García will lead the VAR technology, assisted by Swiss Fedayi San.
The Moroccan national team will face Saudi Arabia tomorrow, Monday, with the match kicking off at 6:00 PM (GMT+1). Morocco needs only a draw or a win to secure qualification for the quarter-finals.
