Lalas (Former US Defender): 'I Don't Want to See Morocco in Our Group... I Don't Know What's Happening There, But They Are Performing Great'

Alexi Lalas, a former United States defender, hopes his national team avoids Morocco in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.

Speaking on the "Fox Soccer" program, Lalas said, "The team I absolutely do not want to see in the United States' group is Morocco."

He continued, "I don't know what's happening there, they are performing great, and I don't want to be in the way of that runaway train."

The draw ceremony for the 2026 World Cup will be held today, Friday, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C., starting at 6:00 PM (18:00 GMT+1).
