Former US International Donovan on 2026 World Cup Draw: 'Please, We Don't Want Morocco in Our Group!'

Former US international Landon Donovan expressed a strong desire to avoid Morocco in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, asserting that the "Atlas Lions" are currently experiencing an amazing period of brilliance.

Speaking on "Fox Soccer," Donovan stated, "The team I absolutely do not want to see in our group is definitely Morocco."

He added, "They are in an incredible period of brilliance recently, not just at the men's level, but even in the youth categories. Please, we don't want Morocco."

Morocco has been a formidable opponent for the US national team in recent years, having eliminated them on several occasions, most recently in the Round of 16 at the U-17 World Cup.
