Arsenal Solidifies Premier League Lead

Arsenal strengthened their lead at the top of the Premier League with a crucial 2-0 victory over visitors Brentford on Wednesday evening, in a match from Week 14 of the competition.

Spanish midfielder Mikel Merino opened the scoring for Arsenal early in the 11th minute. Bukayo Saka then sealed the win and extinguished any hopes of a Brentford comeback by netting the second goal in the 90+1st minute.

With this result, Arsenal solidified their hold on the top spot, increasing their points tally to 33, five points clear of their closest challenger Manchester City. Brentford, meanwhile, remained on 19 points, sitting in 13th place.
