Cameroon Coach Names Final Squad for AFCON 2025, Omitting Onana and Aboubakar
The Cameroon Football Federation has unveiled the list of players called up to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations finals, scheduled to take place between December 21 and January 18 in the Kingdom of Morocco.
New coach David Pagou selected 28 players for the competition. The squad includes prominent names such as Bryan Mbeumo from Manchester United, Christopher Wooh from Spartak Moscow, and Carlos Baleba from Brighton.
Cameroon's squad also features new faces, most notably Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe from Brest and Christian Kouamé from Bayer Leverkusen. In a notable move, Pagou decided to exclude two key pillars of the Cameroonian national team: André Onana, the Trabzonspor goalkeeper, and striker Vincent Aboubakar from Neftchi Baku.
The Cameroonian national team is placed in Group F, alongside Ivory Coast, Gabon, and Mozambique.
It is worth noting that the Cameroon Federation announced on Monday the dismissal of its senior national team coach, Marc Brys, and the appointment of David Pagou as his successor.
