"Black Army" Slams Coach Santos: "His Continued Presence is a Waste of Time," Questions Sporting Director's Role

Following their recent defeat to Young Africans in the CAF Champions League, AS FAR fans have intensified their criticism, asserting that the loss was not merely a setback but a direct consequence of "clear negligence from the players." According to the "Black Army" ultras group, the players entered the match "without a fighting spirit or tactical awareness."

In a statement, the "Black Army" group wrote: "The match was a stark example of player negligence. They appeared without a fighting spirit or any tactical awareness, like sluggish bodies walking on the pitch without clear commitment or a sense of responsibility. These actions do not align with our aspirations and ambitions. From this standpoint, we declare that the team and its jersey are greater than any individual, regardless of their name or status, and no one is exempt from responsibility or enjoys any personal immunity."

The ultras group added: "We reiterate that coach Alexandre Santos has clearly demonstrated his technical limitations. He consistently fails to present a clear tactical vision, lacking specific playing styles, as if mid-week training sessions are non-existent. Therefore, we believe his continued presence from today onwards is a waste of time and a significant risk to the rest of the season. We also question the role of Sporting Director Frédéric Hebert, who has been absent from the scene, just as his touch and sound decisions have been absent from the team since his appointment."

The group's statement also included criticism directed at the administration: "As for the team's management, which acts in a submissive manner and neglects its fundamental duties in protecting the club's interests, the president's role is not to travel with the team as a tourist observing from afar, but to defend the club's interests behind the scenes. We are tired of the isolated and unjust refereeing decisions that recur without a firm response or strong stance within the corridors of the African Confederation, while the fans pay the price in anger and regret. The question remains: for how long?"

The "Black Army" concluded its statement by emphasizing the necessity of strongly supporting the team in its upcoming match against Al Ahly of Egypt: "Finally, despite all this, and as a confirmation of our loyalty, we will remain behind the team, supporting them. Therefore, we call on the fans to attend on Friday, and we urge the players to give their utmost to achieve victory, as we are still at the beginning of the journey, and there is still ample time in the season to recover."
