The International Football Federation (FIFA) announced on Sunday the launch of the official mascot for the upcoming Arab Cup, which Qatar will host between December 1 and 18.

The official mascot is named "Joha," in tribute to the fictional character who is a prominent symbol of Arab popular heritage.

While often portrayed as a clumsy and slow-witted man who finds himself in humorous situations due to his peculiar actions, Joha is a symbol of authentic Arab popular heritage, embodying the rich and ancient folkloric traditions of the region.

A total of 16 national teams will compete for the Arab Cup title in the final stage. Nine countries have already automatically qualified based on their FIFA world rankings, while 14 other nations will vie for the remaining seven spots during the qualifying round.

The Moroccan national team has been placed in Group B, alongside Saudi Arabia, the winner of the Oman vs. Somalia match, and the winner of the Yemen vs. Comoros encounter.
