Mohamed Amine Benhashim, coach of Wydad AC, outlined his team's objective in this season's CAF Confederation Cup, ahead of their group stage opener tomorrow (20:00 GMT+1) against Kenya's Nairobi United.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Benhashim stated: "Preparations have gone well, and we have observed the opponent's playing style, especially in their last two matches against Etoile du Sahel."

He continued: "Ten days of preparation have been sufficient and have given us a clear idea of the opponent, and how we can approach tomorrow's match."

He added: "The opponent is not easy; they are difficult, especially from set-pieces. We remain Wydad, a team that has accustomed its fans to competing in the Champions League, but today we are required to win the Confederation Cup. Any other result would be negative."

Benhashim further explained: "Our planning is game-by-game, just as we do in the league. The atmosphere at Larbi Zaouli Stadium is different, and we conducted a training session to familiarize ourselves. Our team is ready to compete for the title."

He elaborated: "There are no injuries within the squad, and player selection will be based on tactical considerations. We did not play a friendly match because we have used many players in our last six games, and it was necessary to give them rest due to fatigue."

He concluded: "Our focus was on Nairobi United and Etoile du Sahel's matches, and we observed a team capable of quick transitions. Tomorrow, we must maintain possession and look for spaces."
