In a notable protest, the "Südkurve" group, supporters of German club Bayern Munich, remained silent during the first 12 minutes of today's match against Freiburg. Bayern won the game 6-2 as part of the 11th round of the German league.

This action comes in protest against new proposals from the Conference of Interior Ministers in Germany, which aim to tighten stadium entry procedures by mandating access to stands via "Face ID" technology. Fans view these measures as a direct threat to fan culture.

The proposals include the adoption of personalized tickets linked to a fan's identity, the use of facial recognition technology at stadium entrances, and the creation of a unified national committee empowered to issue nationwide bans preventing specific fans from attending matches.

Fan groups believe these measures represent a serious infringement on privacy and and could pave the way for further restrictions on fan attendance and freedom of expression in the stands.

In this context, Fabian Stammberger, a member of the "Südkurve" group, expressed their outright rejection of these measures, stating: "In the first 12 minutes, we will show what the destruction of fan culture means. The first minutes will be completely silent."
