Bounou: "Extremely Happy with Hakimi's African Ballon d'Or Win, a Great Honor for Moroccans"

Yassine Bounou, the Moroccan national team goalkeeper, expressed his delight at being crowned the best goalkeeper on the continent for 2025. He also highlighted his immense joy at his compatriot Achraf Hakimi winning the African Ballon d'Or.

Speaking to Qatar's beIN Sports network after receiving his award, Bounou stated: "In truth, it's a beautiful feeling. I want to thank the people who help us, the entire Moroccan people, and my friends, whether at Al-Hilal club or the national team."

He added: "I am very happy for Achraf winning the Ballon d'Or. This is a great honor for us as Moroccans, and we thank him very much for the efforts he makes."

Regarding the possibility of winning the continent's best goalkeeper award for a third time, Bounou explained: "We work, and our goal is not always to win individual awards. We must respect the work we do, and we thank the fans for everything."
