CAF Awards: El-Rmichi Nominated for Best Goalkeeper, El-Shabbak and El-Messaoudi for Best Player

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the final shortlists for the 2025 CAF Women's Football Awards. The announcement featured a notable Moroccan presence, confirming the significant development of the sport in Morocco in recent years.

In the Best Goalkeeper in Africa category, Khadija El-Rmichi continues to represent Moroccan football, having secured her place on the final shortlist alongside Nigeria's Chiamaka Nnadozie and South Africa's Andile Dlamini.

The Best Player in the Continent award also features a strong Moroccan presence, with two Moroccan players making the final shortlist of only three nominees. These are Ghizlane Chebbak, who plays professionally for Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal, and Sanaa Messaoudi, star of AS FAR.

The inclusion of two Moroccan players in the final shortlist highlights the quality of the current generation of Atlas Lionesses and their continental influence, particularly after their consistent strong performances in African competitions. The list is completed by Nigeria's Rasheedat Ajibade, who plays professionally for Paris Saint-Germain.
