Belqshour: "Zamrat's Statements are 'Serious,' Jaid Assured Me He's Ready to Have His Phone Examined"
Abdeslam Belqshour, President of the Professional League, affirmed that the statements made by national coach Abdelwahed Zamrat, the resigned coach of Ittihad Touarga, regarding external interference in referee decisions during his team's matches, must be taken seriously. Belqshour explained that Zamrat spoke of contact between a VAR referee and Redouane Jaid, Director of the Refereeing Department, who allegedly instructed the VAR referee not to award a penalty, claiming the foul was outside the box. Belqshour described this as a serious matter if proven true.
Belqshour added that the independence of the referee during a match is inviolable, and any instruction outside of match times or training sessions is unacceptable. He stressed that the League will take strict measures to verify the accuracy of these accusations.
Belqshour concluded by stating that he would enlist the Professional League's lawyer to file an official complaint and launch a thorough investigation with the security and judicial authorities. He expressed hope that the investigation results would be released as soon as possible to clarify the truth and ensure the integrity of national competitions.
